In the realm of gripping psychological thrillers, Netflix is set to deliver another gem with the upcoming series "Ripley". Adapted from Patricia Highsmith's iconic Tom Ripley novels, this highly anticipated show promises to be a rollercoaster of suspense, intrigue, and dark secrets.

The series centres around the life of Tom Ripley, played by Andrew Scott, a con artist trying to survive in New York City in the early 1960s. He is hired by a wealthy man to convince his errant son, Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), to come home, which propels Tom into a web of lies, fraud, and murder. In the film, Dakota Fanning portrays Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy who is both Dickie's girlfriend and wary of Tom's welcoming attitude.

If the above feels familiar, it is because it shares the same plot as the 1999 movie The Talented Mr. Ripley, another excellent Patricia Highsmith adaptation.

The eight-episode limited series will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, April 4.
